Living in the Light of Death

My wife and I attended the first Death Awareness workshop that Larry Rosenberg did at CIMC. That was the subject he wanted to take up after Breath by Breath, and it was the one that first got the notice of our publisher, Shambhala Publications. When editor Dave O’Neal heard Larry speak on this subject, he asked if he would be interested in writing a book on the subject, and Larry said he would, but first he’d like Dave to take a look at the book we were working on then (which we had just started). That led to a long relationship with Shambhala and with Dave for both Larry and me. That first workshop was one of the most powerful days I ever had on retreat, and this teaching has been extremely valuable in my life.
